Body-Mind Psychotherapy Training
Body-Mind Psychotherapy (BMP) training is open to helping professionals who are interested in the interface between body, mind, and emotions.
The fundamental focus of BMP training is cultivating a deep level of embodiment. It is through our own embodiment that we become present and responsive with more and more of ourselves. This is a constantly deepening process.
The second level of skills in BMP revolves around observation. Through the ability to deeply witness your clients, you can empathize more profoundly and more effectively. In BMP our ability to observe others evolves out of our own awareness of our own embodiment practice.
The final level of skill in BMP involves the ability to facilitate clients' personal development based in a deep understanding of their psychophysical process. You will learn to empathize and deeply witness others using the body systems. Again, in BMP interventions arise out of the practitioners own embodiment practice and awareness.
Since communication is 70% non-verbal, your BMP skills will greatly assist you in client intervention and facilitation. BMP provides you with a deep level of understanding of the psychophysical and developmental process. A wide range of BMP trainees including psychotherapists, teachers, organizational consultants, nurses, M.D.'s, bodyworkers, physical trainers, yoga teachers, and many more, have found training in this work to be a deeply satisfying experience both professionally and personally, physically and emotionally.
The training simultaneously provides basic skills of somatic psychology – body awareness, movement, breath, and contact – embedded within a highly sophisticated context of embodiment. This creates a ground for advanced and beginning practitioners alike to deepen and refine their clinical work. This workshop combines didactic sharing of detailed information from anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, psychology, and spiritual disciplines, with experiential work in embodiment, communication, movement, breath, meditation, leadership, and facilitation.
